I was just wondering, are puppies tummies suppose to be big? I mean, the rest of his body seems fine, and he gets plenty of excerise. i'm worried he might have a parasite or sumthing thats preventing him from getting his nutrients from the food. His tummy is like a ball.... but its not like his legs or anything else is chunky. Like the similar thread, Simba eats as though we don't feed him EVER. He gets fed 3x a day. I thought he was always hungry because he got more excerise then food he was getting, but no matter what he's always hungry.
My plan right now is to wait a little and see how he grows and watch to see if his body just starts evening out.... but if its something serious, i don't really want to wait. |

Has he been de-wormed? My vet gave Bailey a dose of de-wormer at 8 weeks and once every month when she got each of her puppy shots. I would head right for the vet if you haven't had your pup wormed yet.
If you have had him wormed already then I wouldn't worry if your pups belly is a little round. I think most puppies have that cute round little belly. It's just puppy fat. At around 6 months of age they start to even out a bit. Bailey had a bit of a belly until she was about 9 months old. I could still see her ribs and she had skinny littte legs but a cute little pot belly. |
