my little boy has a droopy eye
my puppy has a droopy left eye and i asked my vet what it could be from and he seemed to think it was part of the growing process but he was going to look in to it for me. it doesnt seem to bother him he doesnt rub it on the couch or anything. the worst part is that when he wakes up he has green slime in it. i was wondering if any boxer owners have had the same thing or any info regarding this. thanks for your help.

This is a total shot in the dark, but our friends' new (human!) baby has a blocked tear duct in one eye -- it is actually very common in human babies and results in, basically, snot coming out the eye instead of the nose. The doctors have told them it will clear up within a few months.
Because of their smushy faces, I can imagine that Boxers have blockage problems occasionally. If your pup has any sneezing or coughing, I would bug the vet again. |

From what your describing it sounds like your dog has Ectropion which is where there is sagging or rolling out of the eyelid, some people do describe this as giving the dog's eyes a sagging or droopy eye or eyes look.
Is this maybe what your talking about? Because of the increased exposure the membrane of the eye does become irritated often and the green gunk your talking about can develop into bacterial conjunctivitis as well as the condition itself often leading to dry eye. |
