Proof of the miracle of raw :)
These pictures were posted on the Greyhound board, but the difference is so amazing, I felt compelled to share it over here:
Before: ![]() After: ![]() This dog is on a diet of kibble and recreational bones. Can you imagine the difference if the dog was put on a *full* raw diet? Amazing, no? |

i wish i had taken before pictures of mushroom's teeth when i got him. they were nasty and his gums bled like crazy just from grabbing a rope tuggy. recreational bones alone cleaned them up nicely.

calgal, I've heard some of the greatest improvements in health happen in the toy dogs when fed raw, because they receive such inadequate nutrition from kibble. Their bodies are so small, and must really be provided the best nutrition because they eat so little. I would let yours chew on a chicken neck, and I'm sure you'd find they'd love the experience and would have no problems what so ever. They are dogs, after all!

My girls definitely aren't lacking in the nutrition department.
The Vitamins I mix up consists of nutritional yeast, lecithin granules, kelp powder, bonemeal and Vitamin C. They each get a teaspoon of this every day mixed in their breakfast. They chew on their bully sticks and small slices of beef leg bones. I'm sure they wont need to eat the raw chicken or bones. They also get unflavored yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, boiled eggs, oatmeal, steak, salmon oil, peanut butter (the all natural kind you have to keep in the ref.) and for kibble there are three different kinds down all the time.....Innova, Chicken Soup and Great Life Buffalo. I even make their treats which has calf liver in them and I even cut them out in animal shapes. ![]() |

Sorry I wasn't real clear about the vitamins I mix. They don't get a teaspoon of each of the ingredients, I mixed these together first. This has to be refridgerated. If your interested in how much of each ingredient to use let me know.

Cal Gal, sure, you are supplementing them, but, that's even more dangerous in a small breed dog, because, unless you are a nutritionist, how can you be sure they are getting the right ratios. Too much of a good thing is sometimes more dangerous than a lack of something.
I cut out almost all supplements in my dogs. They are on the prey model diet for raw. I can't mix up something better than nature has already designed it. |
