Spay with blood?

My girl got her spay today... we decided after her having puppy vaginitis pretty bad that we were going to spay her and hope that will help with the vaginitis...

who really knows but now she is home and extremely lathargic. i carried her outside to potty because she didnt wanna walk and i set her down and she pottied well i noticed she was looking uncomfortable and i looked where the potty was and there was red blood like mucusy... so it was mixed with the vaginitis mucus.... pee.. and blood... well does anyone have ideas about this?

Yeh I would call to be sure. Kota didn't go potty for a couple of days after her spay. But there was no vaginitis with her. I'd call just to make sure.

I've never heard that. Perhaps it's normal for a pooch in her condition. I'd still call the vet in the morninig. My experience with emergency vets are limited. But I have little confidence in the one's around here.

Kassie had a bit of blood in her first pee after her spay surgery. I called my vet in a panic and they said to keep an eye on her next pee. She was fine afterwards but I think it's good that you share this with your vet.

well i watched her last night and today and so far there is no blood again it only happened twice... but i picked her up last night and the mucus that was coming out from vaginitis was red not actually her pee i think so im not sure but the vet said still keep an eye on her to see if she continues with the blood....

but im guessing this is normal... at least alittle is normal?

If she still has green then I'd notify the vet....sounds like she needs a chance in antibiotics and really should be seen by your vet for a follow up. jmo

My female shepard has had a interuterine infection...we had to have her spayed also. She did have a little blood and some of the fluids from the infection "seaping" out. This contiuned for a few days after the surgery. The vet advised us to continue the meds and keep an eye on her. You should call your vet to make sure that the infection hasn't gotten worse.
