wound infected????

when amlet was neutered friday, he got a dew claw removed too. he's been crated a lot the past two days because we're really trying to enforce the potty thing. anyway, when i looked at his paw just now, it's red and it doesn't even look like there are stitches in the wound!! plus, around it is red like it was either bleeding, or it's infected. it's like red streaked. he's not limping, and he's running around like a mad dog like always. and it doesn't really seem to be bothering him. i'm really worried! should i just take him to the vet tomorow? it seems excessive to take him to the emergency vet, right? should i bandage it up, and not crate him overnight to watch him? i kinda think that he got bored in the crate and was messing with it or something. either that or his manic running screwed his paw up. what should i do!!??

Does he have a cone collar? Put that on him. Take him to the vet tomorrow. They'll probably want you to keep the cone on him and give him antibiotics (is he already on them?) until the paw clears up.

they did not require a collar, but said he would need one if he picked at the stitches. his scrotal area is fine, looks like he hasn't gotten to that...although he has still been humping things. he's only on pain meds now but i think they gave him an antibiotic shot on friday or something. i'll take him in tomorow..i'm just gonna be so worried all night and i'm gonna skip a class tomorow to take him...i dont think i'll crate him tonight so i can really monitor him.

Aw, keep an eye on him. Try not to worry too much.

LOL at the humping! Just promise to post a picture if they give him a cone.

My vet said neosporin and a bandaid when cuts looked infected. Just make sure he doesn't chew it off, so monitor him well.
