Bleach solution (bleach is about the only cleaner and the cheapest that can kill parvo other than disinfectants that are specific to killing parvo) that is chlorine bleach diluted 1 ounce per quart of water. Parvo can be carried in on your shoes, clothes, hands,& car tires. Same with your dogs feet. Any areas thought to be contaminated with parvo should be disinfected.
Parvo can live outside for a long time and even at VERY cold temperatures for months on end. |

The dip bucket is a great idea Jacklover.
I was so worried when I read this thread. I thought something had happened to your babies! Glad they are OK. So sorry to hear about the neighbors pup though. |

If you puppies have been vacinated, then I am sure they are fine. The problem is when they aren't up to date on their shots, or when they are very young and have not finished their shot series.
Do you have puppies that young in your house? If so, use the bleach to disinfect your floors and side walks, and keep your puppy away from your other dogs until he finishes his shots. |

The bleach in the stores are chlorine bleach. Even though your dog has had the parvo vaccines they can still get parvo, but maybe not as severe as not having shots. I had a dog who got a dose of parvo even thought she was over a year old and even had her parvo booster. It's nasty stuff to say the least.

Yes, Parvo is really nasty. I don't blame you for worrying with 8 puppies in the house. I would worry too.
I wish I had a good suggestion to keep those pups safe. It sounds like you are doing all you can. |

I thought Rauligh had Parvo so I took him to the vet and they put him on some pills just incase he did have it. So, you can take them to the vet if you want for testing although they said the test never is 100% accurate. Keep everything really clean.
