Are Bananas OK for dogs?

Sometimes my son doesn't eat all of his banana and I give Blitz the rest (broken into small pieces). Is there anything in bananas that could be harmful to a dog? I can't imagine there is, but I don't know for sure.

Not that I'm aware of, I often give them with yogurt or alone and their a great source of potassium.

I found this athttp://www.pet-grub.com/appendixA/scene7.pets
Banana:

Bananas are interesting because they are said to add natural acidophilus bacteria to the bowels although probably in small amounts only. Bananas are also a good source of potassium which benefits the muscular system. Their sweetness usually makes them a favourite of dogs.
So i would think they are an occasianal treat.

I've always given dogs bananas as well as other fruits and have not had any of them get sick. Guess because it's "real" food.

Cooper LOVES bananas, I always share mine with him! Rexie only eats them if Cooper wants her piece. Obnoxious.

Mashed bananas are often recommended to put into kongs and then freeze. =) I know my boys love them too.
