Don't know why, whining scratching?!?!

Hello
Maybe it is nothing maybe not ...
My little one is whining and scratching today, sometimes it seemed like he is running from himself... but he can sleep and play is fit like everyday.but not his chipper himself.
Well today we were at the vet for the check up and the vaccine (2. shot). Everything was fine.
Now he appears to be whiny and scratching all the time, when we take over scratching he starts nibbeling on us.
Not that he is very quiet all the time but it semed a bit extreme today.
Well now i am not sure if that started yesterday, and just got worse today , or maybe it just seems to me that it started yesterday bacuse I am so on alert.or it is just maybe a reaction to the vaccine. With all the dogs I had i never had that.
Just in case I checked for fleas, but then the others would have it, too. Mom is on Frontline. So I just did the one thing i could think of and washed him with a medicated schampoo, (Not the way i wanted to train that but he had to take the dive.By the way he did great)
He loved beeing rubbed down, wich goes confirm with the itch.
If it is a reaction to the vaccine how long can that last???
any input???

Thanks Kat

if it is a reaction to the shot you can give benedryl. my vet said one 25mg pill per 20 lbs. i am not sure about how long an allergic reaction lasts or if it just continues to worsen. lots of times the eyes and mouth will swell which is not good as it indicates the tongue and esophagus is possibly swelling.

dont feel too confident with frontline. at the grooming shop where i work, about 80% of the dogs that is on frontline has fleas or ends up getting flea reinfestation after 2-3 weeks. frontline is just not completely effective not is advantage.
hope this info helps
