Has anyone owned a dog that was incontinent? And are altered males & females more prone to suffer from it? I think they are if I remember correctly. I have an almost 11 year old GSD mix who occassionally has some dribbling going on and I am ready to buy him some DEPENDS
JK! Seriously what to do? Thanks ![]() |

yes. i have two leaky dogs. i don't know how i got so lucky. one male, one female. both were leaking when they were sleeping/laying down. they both take a drug called phenylpropanolamine (PPA for short) and it works very very well.
step number one would be to make an appointment with your vet and take along a urine sample to rule out a urinary tract infection. (and don't joke about the depends! i used to have a miniature poodle who wore panties with "bladder protection pads" inside. i was always so freaking embarrassed when i had to buy them at the store. "they're for my dog! honest!" she wasn't incontinent, just ancient, senile, and not housebroken.) |

Theo was incontinent for the last few months of his life...
What we did is we went to Petsmart and we got him "male diaper raps", and ducktaped baby diapers into them...we had to change his about 7 times a day, but it would be different depending on how bad it is... Hope this helps ![]() |

Yogurt, our English Springer Spaniel, who was 13 years old had incontinence the last 5 months of her life. I gave her a little hormone pill every 3 days and it took care of the problem beautifully.
