Unhappy Parvo

Finn has parvo. This morning he didn't eat. He was sick after that. He lay on his cushion looking ill and sad, and then he fell sleep. He was still asleep when I left for school. I got home and my dad told me he was at the vet's. He said he has parvo. He's on a drip and he's not doing anything, though he doesn't like the vet's. We phoned up ten minutes ago and they said he was being very sick, and having lots of diahorrea. He's far worse than before. They said he's going to get worse before he gets better. If he gets better.

Oh my Gosh. I am so sorry to hear this. Where the heck do you think he picked that up? I am thinking of him, you and your family and sending my prayers and best wishes that he recovers. It sounds like you may have taken him in early on so we'll just hope the vet can bring him around. Keep us posted.

He was in a kennel for three days and though he wasn't in contact with other dogs it's possible that the man who takes care of them was carrying it.

Thanks.

I wish no dog ever had to go through this terrible disease
I'm so sorry, and I'll be keeping him in my thoughts. If your vet will let you, please try and spend some time with him. Many dogs get very depressed with this disease, and just having someone/something familiar around can ease their fear and discomfort.

Best wishes for a full recovery.

Haven, I think that sounds like a really nice idea. If they have a little less stress, I'm sure their immune systems can work better.

This is indeed scary. We're thinking of your pup.

Parvo is a terrible disease. I am so sorry your baby has it and send heaps of positive vibes your way.

Did you know that parvo will actually live in the soil? So pups can get infected before they are old enough to be vaccinated (very scary)
