Question Tooth issue

Today I noticed that Fallon's tooth (top k-9)has a chip in it. It's kinda hard to describe but the tooth is all there it's just that a layer is chiped off from the tip to the tooth. I am ofcourse very concerned with this but sont have enough money to go to the vet right now. How worried should I be. She shows no signs of pain and she eats and plays just fine. Infact I honestly dont know how long her tooth has been like that or how it happened.
Am I being paranoid will she be okay???

I wouldnt worry to much but keep an eye on it and if he goes off his food or wont eat bones then you better have it checked

Since you can't take him in right now I agree, keep a close eye on it and go from there. Watch for signs of the tooth becoming darker in color, bleeding or redness around the gum area and of course watch his eating to see if it troubles him.

I don't blame you! Identity crisis is not something Fallon should have to go through!

My 8 year old rottie chipped a tooth a while back and it went gray. My vet (had him for about a year)recommended an $800 root canal telling me that Chaos was probably in pain etc. etc. I started calling her previous vets (we move a lot), and talked to our shelter vet. All of them recommended against a root canal, and recommended just watching for signs of pain or changed eating habits. The consensus was that there are a lot of dogs walking around with chipped canines, and that it is usually not a big deal. So far so good - no signs of pain. I got a new vet!
