Bovine invomec ?????

Hello everybody !!!!! I have a question if anybody knows ,I was told by a couple different breeders to give dogs injectable bovine ivomec orally and to use about .1 cc per ten pounds of body weight once per month. I gave it to my adult boxers and eight month old English bulldogs. We have about seven dogs total and it did wonders to get rid of flees we have had no problems for the past two months, but we just bought another boxer yesterday and she is only seven weeks old does anybody know if she is too young for this treatment ?

Call a vet perhaps, and find out from them?

I would definitely talk with a vet. Wormers can be dangerous if used improperly. I knew of a bad vet who wormed a friend's horse two times too close together and it did something to the horse's intestines and killed it. Be careful. Breeders know a lot, but normally vets (good ones) are the one's who really know anatomy and physiology of dogs and all that stuff.

Hmm, I have never seen anyone give that to their dog,.... Our vet never recommended it for our dogs & cats when he sold it to us for our cows..

Dear Ekangas,
I use ivomec invectable for my dogs but i do not start them on it until 6 months at the very least, so i would definate steer clear of using it on a 7 week old as young pups can be very suseptable to overdoses from medications.
