let's work

Hello
Well ihaven't lived in the staes for too long but it really doesn't seem more dangerous like in Europe/Germany. Upuse is done with guns all over, Yes you can get guns easyer here but people who buy guns officially are mostly very responsible with it, the ones that buy them illegally will not be very responible. Yes we have tighter laws in f.ex. Germany with guns, but bad guys will always have guns. law or not law, it only keeps honest people honest. I experienced here in the US a huge respect for German Shepherds, and they are sometimes a bigger "threat" to people then a police officer in uniform, the is a huge respect for these dogs. so all Polices all over the world send dogs, to get guys, who says they don't turn arround and shoot at the dogs??? Even without the cameras, they get trained to be maybe, if all comes worse, a bulletblock. Every policeman i know, beeing in Germany or here in the US cares alot for his dog, and they do everythimng posible to keep them save. i wouldn't think that they would send the dogs in a situation where they can foresee that they can get shot. A ploicedog is indeed a specialdog, they are selected dogs, alot of them do the trained rutine, but they need a lot of heart to to the job on the streets... they are not replaceable very easy, especially not emotional. I haven't seen actually how these dogs work, but I can imagine a dog can sneek up better and it is easyer to get cover with a good handler who is able to guide his dog through a situation like that. I don't belive everything that goes on in the media, and hopefully not everybody does. But i did like Fahrenheit 9/11 there was a lot information in it i didn't know and was interesting to see, how extrem and overstreched somestuff was oh well that's the freedom of the author, and yeah you have to see both sides to find the truth in the middle..... |

The police in England have unfortunately drawn the short straw. Situations involving weapons are becoming more and more frequent, but yet the government remains adamant in it's decision that the police on the street remain unarmed. A decision that is been constantly debated.
The police are not a bunch of cowards, as suggested by the reporter. These people are intelligent individuals who have dedicated their lives to enforcing law and order in the united kingdom. They are well aware of the dangers they may come up against but nether the less carry out their job to the best of their abilities unarmed. To put a life of an animal before that of a human is not a sign of cowardice but one of common sense. The UK police are doing the best with what is available to them at the time. IMO a dog is less likely to increase hostilities than a human would. If it is carrying a mobile phone then I expect it is because who ever is holding the gun has asked for one. Shooting the dog carrying it kinda defeats the object! As for the camera, If he shoots the dog with the camera then I expect he would have shot a police officer with a camera as well. It is the action of been on video he is against not whoever / whatever is carrying it. Shooting them just stops them been filmed. A dog will not try to deceive, trick or negotiate. It's actions are obvious and therefore I believe the chances of a dog been shot are less than that of an officer. If your soldiers were sent into war with nothing more than baseball bats would the same reporter blame them for wanting to protect your country. Nobody wants to die, the police in England are doing the best with what is available to them, and if it happens to be a dog then so be it. The faults are with the law makers and law breakers not those that try to enforce it. |
