Tourists' dogs stumble upon marijuana brick
THE HAMMOCK -- Two dogs belonging to a tourist discovered almost four pounds of marijuana at the beach on May 24.
The tourist and his wife, from Nashville, Tenn., were walking their dogs along the shore at Rollins Drive in the Marineland Acres subdivision in northeast Flagler County. The dogs were eating what their owners thought was seaweed, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. About half an hour later the dogs started getting sick and acting strange, according to the Sheriff's Office. The dogs were taken to a veterinarian. About five hours after the trip to the beach, the man returned and found an unwrapped brick of what later tested to be marijuana. He notified the Sheriff's Office and a deputy was dispatched. The deputy searched the beach but couldn't find any other marijuana. He took the marijuana from the tourist and listed it to be destroyed. In other police-related news: · A Bunnell man was arrested May 23 on drug charges after a deputy who knew he didn't have a driver's license saw him driving and stopped him, according to the Sheriff's Office.
