Fire outside Estacada kills five dogs in house

ESTACADA -- Five dogs died in a small rural house that was heavily damaged in a fire Tuesday.

Firefighters from Estacada and Sandy put out the fire, which apparently started in the living room of the home of Scott Finkle, 39, on Southeast Clausen Road in the George area, about 31/2 miles east of Estacada. Neighbors saw smoke and called 9-1-1 shortly before 1:30 p.m.

No people were in the house, said Capt. Larry Jensen of the Estacada Fire Department. He estimated damage to the 600-square-foot building and its contents at $35,000. The cause was being investigated.

that is so awful! i wonder where the owner was while his house burned down... those poor dogs... i hope they didnt suffer

Awwww those poor dogs

I have stickers on all my windows that say "in case of fire please rescue my pets", and there is a place to fill in how many, and what kind. It gives me a little peace on mind when I'm out, and the guy next door is a firefighter.

That is so sad. Theres needs to be a plan world wide where the fire fighters and emergency people know what pets are in the houses. I know in the usa u can get a sticker, wish we had that here.
