Willow is a doll and you are so right -- you can't tell by looking at her that anything happened.

Thanks again for setting the record straight. The media screws up so many stories.

I'm so glad Willow is doing well - she is a beautiful little girl.

I hope your older daughter gets over her fears in time.

I'm really happy that Willow is making such a great recovery, she's a beautiful little girl. I'm so sorry that she had to go through something so horrible, and I hope that Kaylara will soon overcome her fear of dogs. What a hero she is.

Hello Tina and welcome! Thank you so much for sharing the real story behind Willow's unfortunate injuries, while we all would prefer to never hear of something like this happening, I appreciate you taking the time to explain in detail exactly what happened and I'm so glad that Willow is doing well! I've often thought about her and your family since that day.

I hope that you'll stay with us here at Global Paw and please, give Willow a huge hug from me for being so brave through it all and Kayla as well for doing such a wonderful job when she was needed the most!

thanx everyone .we are all doing very well now and kayla is slowly warming up to our dogs again Yes the surgeons did an amazing job reconstructing willoes face its only been a year and most of the scarring has faded. this saturday marks the first anniverary of willows attack its a little tough as the day grows closer ... but we plan on making it a special day for the family 2 and 4 footed ,a celebration that she survived the attack ..

Well today marks the first anninversary of willows attack..I thought i was handling things pretty well in dealing with the events of that day .. but i guess its hitting me harder than i thought. been having nightmare the last few days and rather than sleeping ive been spending hours browsing through the threads on global paw.. ive been thinking of going over to my neighbors place later on in the day to see how they are doing but im also hesitant .. I havent seen much of them since the attack.. Lori has only seen Willow once since she was bitten and couldnt stop crying .. other than what happened to willow,, loosing thier friendship is one of my biggest regrets.. i very much want to go and see them today but i am not sure if i should...

You and your daughter suffered a lot -- physically and emotionally. It takes time to heal. Do whatever you feel will help you in healing. It is all about you and your daughter.

Maybe your neighbor doesn't feel that you want to resume the friendship. Have you spoken to your neighbor on the phone since the incident? Maybe you should go out for lunch if you don't want to invite her over for tea.

I know that must of been a very hard thing that your family went through, and it takes time to heal. The reason you may not have seen or heard from your neighbours could be because they feel guilty/ashamed over what happened and are afriad to face you. It would probably make all the difference in the world if you went over to visit them(if you can gather the strenght, it may still just be to soon for yourself) but it would probably help you both heal.

I'm so glad to see your beautiful little girl has made an amazing recovery. I think your idea of a celebration is a wonderful idea, everyone will enjoy it
