SPCA Takes 135 Dogs From Breeding Farm

NBC10 News

LOWER OXFORD, Pa. -- The SPCA swooped down Friday on a Chester County property and removed more than 100 dogs from a house and barn.

The Chester County SPCA took around 135 dogs from a breeding farm in Lower Oxford because of unsanitary conditions.

The SPCA said that it got a tip from a woman who had tried to purchase a dog at the location.

"We came out, investigated and found approximately 135 dogs living in unsanitary conditions. ... Many of them are English bulldogs. We also have cavalier King Charles spaniels," said Charles McDevitt, of the Chester County SPCA.

It took hours for the SPCA to remove all of the animals. McDevitt described the conditions as "horrible."

"There are many cages piled one on top of the other. There are also animals walking around, not in cages, that are not housebroken, so you can just imagine what it's like inside," McDevitt said.

The owner was identified as Michael Wolf. He has not been charged with anything.

"He was a breeder. His license as a breeder was revoked about two years ago," McDevitt said.

The dogs were taken to the SPCA in West Chester, where they will be cleaned up and given physicals before being made available for adoption.

Oh! my God...those poor animals. I hope that twit gets charged and is forced to clean up the premises or set a match to it. Then he should pay to have all animals being spayed or neutered and homes found for them.
Just makes my blood boil...I have a few choice words for him but this is a family forum.

Another reason to stay on top of all the millers, pet shops that buy from millers, and back yard breeders. We just don't want to do nothing. Sooner or later this madness will have to stop. Keep writing all your congressman/woman to see if we can get a new law in the books that stop the number of breeding dogs your allowed.
