Memphis Humane Society Seeking Homes For Katrina-Displaced Animals
myeyewitnessnews.com/ Memphis
The Memphis Shelby County Humane Society is looking for homes for 14 Katrina-displaced animals. After Katrina, MSCHS took in more than 65 pets who lost their homes and/or their owners in the storm. Problem is, MSCHS is already overcrowded. To encourage families to adopt, MSCHS is currently offering a discounted adoption fee. Right now, you can adopt a dog from MSCHS at a 50% discount. The discount is applied to the adoption fee, which is regularly $100 for puppies, $80 for dogs over 6 months and $50 for dogs over 5 years. Ginger Morgan, Executive Director of the Memphis Shelby County Humane Society said, “Because hurricane season starts June 1, we would like to encourage anyone thinking about adopting a dog or cat to do so now so that the Humane Society will be able to help out again should another disaster hit.” for more info: www.memphishumane.org |
