THQ Goes to the Dogs with Fetch

Digital Trends

By Geoff Duncan
Staff Writer, Digital Trends News

THQ's new "Fetch!" PC game lets players choose, train, dress up, and groom your favorite pooch. No word on whether it'll make Windows lick your face.

With the astonishing popularity o games like Nintendogs, it's not too surprising that THQ has announced the availability of Fetch!, a new PC game developed by its ValuSoft division.

In fetch, players can choose a dog from among their favorite breeds—labs, chihuahuas, beagles, German Shepherds, boxers, and more—then explore a bunch of rough-housing, grooming, training, and play activities with their new pet…and, even better, it's guaranteed not to take a dump (or go Wii!) on the expensive carpet! Players can teach their dogs tricks (sit! stay! roll over! scan for viruses!), compete in dog shows and agility trials, dress up their favorite pooches in funny clothes, and use a built-in Gesture Recognition System to command their pets to do tricks with a few waves of the mouse. Fetch isn't going to keep a combat simulation addict entertained, but it might bring a smile to someone's inner five year-old.

Fetch is rated "E" for everyone by the ESRB, and is available for Windows PCs for $19.99.
