Humane Society Extends Fee Waiver

Dane County Humane Society is extending its offer to waive adoption fees for dogs.

The shelter is at maximum capacity after 52 dogs were seized at a town of Dunn home during the Lowery drug bust and taken to the shelter.

On Wednesday the Humane Society issued a plea for help from those looking to adopt a dog. Now the shelter is extending the adoption fee waiver deadline, but is also asking for help in caring for the 52 other dogs they are now housing.

"We still have a lot more that we need to do," said Sean McBryde of the Humane Society. "So, if anyone can find it in their heart to adopt a dog for a day its ten dollars per dog per day to care and feed them."

You have until June 25th to take advantage of the waived adoption fees, right now - the majority of dogs have been spoken for at the shelter - but they are working with other agencies to bring in additional dogs that need good homes.

This guy that had all the dogs used to be a deputy on the police force, county or city, i'm not sure. He was busted in the early 80's I think maybe late I can't remember, with cocaine and they confiscated 30 pitbulls at that time, I think he only got probation for a couple years.

Anyway, I believe these were confiscated at the same location or right by the last place all the dogs were picked up last time. Hown can this clown even be allowed to own dogs?? They better come down pretty hard on this guy, dog fighting in general in the midwest is a growing problem, lots of signs everywhere, but not many arrests being made.
