'Good Samaritan' Cited With Dog Theft In Campbell

A dog owner had tied up his miniature pinscher while he was playing a game of basketball at a park. A woman felt the dog was being mistreated and allegedly untied the pup and placed it in the cab of her truck.

The owner confronted the woman who claimed she didn't have the dog and started to drive off. The owner jumped in the back of her truck and broke out the back window to try to make her stop.

The woman drove to a police station, trailed by the dog owner.

I'm going to side w/ dog owner and police on this one. there are many more other ways to handle the situation. Although i think her broken windshield and a good talking to would have sufficed.

There was not enough to this story, but some people see a dog in the sun and go straight to thoughts of cruelty. Nothing here sounds like cruelty me to esp since the guy was watching his dog (had to see the woman taking her).

I"m with the owner too. I mean, if you suspect an abandon pet, stick around, ask people in the vicinity, wait a while. If you've asked around, and nobody claims the dog, and wait an hour or so, then go ahead and take it.

If she just walked up took it, and the owner confronted her, she should have apologized said she thought it was abandoned and given it back.

But there could be so much more to this story, so what do I know?

sounds like this woman was more of an interfering biddy than a good samaritan.

The dog and the owner must have been within eyesight of each other.
If she was really concerned for the dog she should have approached the players to find out the true situation.

I would have broken her dam window too, although I would never tie izzie up to a post while I did anything lol, she would be horrified if i did
( just a little spoilt I think lol)

Some people are just reeeally over the edge and need to find something better to do.

A neighbor lady showed up on a landscaping job awhile back. As I was walking Tia over to her blanket in the shade. This gal started whimpering! "Oh poooor doggie! Poooor doggie"...just really acting emotional and weird.

We just walked past her. Tia wanted nothing to do with her. As I snapped on her tether to keep her safe from the busy road *just in case*, this woman starts in with "Oooo, what did she do to deserve THAT?!"...I just looked at her and said "It's her job".

Good Lord!
