The Today Show Puppy Mill Story
Woo hoo! On today's show they featured a story about the plight of puppy mills! They had video of the horrid conditions as well as a story about a female standard poodle who was used for breeding and the abuse she was subjected to. They talked about the puppies for sale in petstores and how they usually come from puppy mills and the health & other problems they can have. They had interviews where it was recommended to rescue instead of buying a cute puppy from a petstore.

The show did end on a nice note. The poodle who was featured found a new home with the reporter who did the story.

Well it's about time! Hopefully more shows like these will air. People really need to see what's really going on out there. Fingers crossed that they watch these shows and not things like Paris Hiltons new "cutest dog show" that's coming out.

now all of us that send in nasty emails to shows for showing dogs in the "wrong" light, should send the today show an email for doing a good job. I just sent mine.

I saw the very ending of that this morning. I'm glad they did, because the people who are staying with us want to eventually get another puppy, and they saw one in a pet store the other day. I warned them not to buy one from there. I told them they'd be looking at a lot of vet bills in the future for the dogs health.

Shows like that would not air if it were not for all the people who are yelling their heads off to congressmen/women, senator's and all and not stopping this plight.
This would be a good time for Nichole Ritchie to step up and start her own show all about pets, breeding, mills and all. Her ratings would go thru the roof and she would be a giant step ahead of her arch rival.

On the left there are "Top Stories" and "Today's Video". Under those there is a list of about 20 other videos, the clip is the 11th one down.

I just watched it, and I almost burst into tears. So sad to watch the dogs in those puppy mills. The one limping about not being able to put weight on his front leg sent chills up my spine.

I agree! Many of us quickly fired off emails when they had the prior story and I think it only fair that we express our appreciation for this show. I already sent my email off earlier today.

As much as I'd like to never see Paris or Nicole on TV again, this is an awsome idea.
