But, I love what I know of this dog and the quiet man who shares an incredible bond with him. From what I understand they simply interact together through understanding. His owner doesn't even use standard "training" methods, just communication.

They are beautiful to watch together.

I have seen him on TV before! What a pair they are - Skidboot's attention is phenomenal and it is quite obvious he enjoys what they do together.

I wasn't planning on watching the video on the link you gave thinking it was what I had seen previously but I am sooooo glad that I did! Hearing the background as well as his owner's personal thoughts was wonderful. It did also bring on a feeling of sadness hearing that Skidboot is losing his eyesight but that also brought much warmth to my heart because with the love & devotion of his owner I don't think he will feel as though he is missing anything.

I loved watching him on TV. (I don't have high speed either) When asked how he trained him, his owner sort of shrugged his shoulders, chuckled a bit and said something like, "I just got down on the floor and showed him." I loved that...just effortless. One thing is for sure, he must have made each little success along the way in that skit a very good thing for his dog or he wouldn't have learned all that. That's good training demonstrated right there and a real partnership and bond.
