I miss it last night, but someone on another board found a link of it.
It is beautiful. For all that missed it: http://mp3.news.com.au/bcm/irwin-funeral.html One Hour Long. |

They broadcast it world wide? That's wonderful.
I didn't watch it myself, but recorded it for my sister. I saw a small clip of Bindi on the news she looked so sweet reading out her speech. Cass. |

Yes, it was an exclusive here....most of us I think saw it on the Animal Planet channel. I tried to watch, but kept getting choked up and had to change it. Even watching the highlights on the news had me going.
Steve was a gift to the world. Not only for us humans, but more so for all of the animals. He will be greatly missed, even here in the States. |

We watched it and was amazed at such composure Bendi had and at the small kids who were all crying. I don't recall kids here in the States crying over any famous persons death. I really loved the singing part. That man is very good and I love the sound and words of his music. It was wonderful.

The singer was John Williamson. He's one of the most famous country/folk singers in Australia.

An interesting day at the Rainbow Bridge.
> > Rainbow Bridge is a place of both peace and anticipation as departed > pets await their beloved owners. The influx of snakes > startled an entire family of cats up a tree. Pythons, cobras, tiger > snakes, brown snakes and even fierce snakes. There were so many at one > point, it seemed the ground itself was alive with writhing. A burly > wombat shouldered his way through the crowd and plopped down in a > shady spot, barely missing a Jack Russell terrier who yapped > indignantly as he abandoned his position. > > And then the crocodiles showed up. > > Finally, a Great Dane managed to get up enough nerve to approach one > of the reptilian giants. > > "Um....excuse me," he said hesitantly. "But why are you all here?" > > The croc dropped her jaw and laughed. "Same as you, mate," she said. > "Waitin' for someone who loved us." > > The dogs, cats, gerbils and other "typical pets" looked at each other > in confusion, then at the plethora of weird, ugly and downright deadly > creatures assembled. Who on Earth could possibly love some of those faces? > > "I see him!" shouted a green mamba from his vantage point in one of > the trees. I watched it with my husband holding back tears the whole time. What a great man this world of humans and animals has lost.
Bigdog, thanks for posting the rainbow bridge story! |

Although I found him to be rather a brash person I was terribly sad at his passing.
He truly loved animals and had a zeal for life. He really was an amazing father. I watched parts of the broadcast, Bindy being the breaking point. |
