My daughter-in-law sent me this book titled Angel Dogs by allen & Linda Anderson. So far it's really quite interesting and I wanted to post this part that's in it I never knew before:

Diverse as their worldviews might be, humans and dogs have one of the most stable and enduring friendships on earth. Stanley Coren, in How Dogs Think writes, "Even more striking is data from a recent scientific study from the dog-genome project. Ewen Kirkness of the Institute for Genomic Research in Rockville, Maryland, and his research team compared the DNA of a poodle to that of a human. What they found was that there was more than a 75 percent overlap between the genetic codes of humans and canines".

Mans best friend??? YOU BET!

The DNA of a human and a chimpanzee is 98.4 percent identical (on average)...I guess that would make chimps a Man's super bestest friend?! :lol:

And a fruit fly has about 70% of the same genes as humans. Making them, man's second best friend?
