Puppies Delivered From Dying Dog

Could you do this? What are your thoughts? I hope the puppies go to a good home.

Oh wow! How sad for the momma chi! That is one of the reasons why I never and could never breed my dogs, the thought of loosing her that way would be horrible. I'm glad the puppies survived though and that the owner had the strength to do what she did to save them.

It doesn't really go into allot of detail does it. What would I do if I found my dog dead and pregnant.. Depends on if the puppies were to term. I would probibly not do it myself. Since I get a bit when I see blood.. However, a quick trip to the vet would probibly be in order

I can't imagine what must have been going through her mind and how horrible it would have been to find her girl passed.

Would I do the same thing? Yes I would, if those pups were close to term or at term you better believe it. Should anyone's love change for those pups just because mother has passed? Those puppies still deserve a chance to live and I couldn't just sit by while they suffocated. Every second counts when they have no oxygen and although I've never done a section on my own I have assisted is more than I can count over the years and would give it my best shot.

To me, any chance is better than no chance at all for life. I hope though that I never have to go through something this terrible.

I heard that at work today....the mother died while giving birth, so they were to term. Her husband called her and told her what was happening so her and her ETM partner ran home to help.

We watch CNN all day at work.

They are the cutest puppies. ones brown, ones light tan, I didnt see the other one too well but I think its tan too...

Shed helped preform C-sections on humans before, so she wasnt untrained, she just had never done it on a dog before.

Absolutely, I would. If the pups were at term or close, yes... the mamma may have died, but there are still lives to save.

I might've...I wouldn't want puppies to die just because their mom did... that is so sad. Another reason to spay and neuter your pets....

I'm not conventionally medically trained.

My mum and I did do an emergency tracheotomy with a pen knife and the tube from a biro, when a friend was choking and we couldn't dislodge the item.

So sure I'd be in there to help my baby's babies have a chance at life, I'd have to keep at least one though.

You go on auto pilot and just do what you have too, and then sit and shake untill the paramedics arrive! lol.

I really dont know if I could have done it. But Yes, I would get her to the vet very fast. But TiknerBelle will never be pregnant. Thats really sad. Maybe she will keep one of the puppies for herself. I bet they were cute!

Oh my goodness it must have been horrible for her to lose her baby, but she did an amazing thing. I think I'd be nervous doing something like this but if, as a lot of you have said, the pups were close or to term I would do my best to save them and then straight to the vet.

Cass.

If her husband called her I don't understand why he did not rush the mom to the vet, maybe her life could of been saved...... Further more I don't understand why a pregnant bitch was left unattened and not watched. To me this is down to irrisponsible dog breeding...

If I came home to find mine dead I too would do the same thing.

Just sad, very sad
