Smile Hi!

Hey,
I've heard of those books by James Herriot, but i've never read any of them really though.

Taz, I checked at Abebooks http://www.abebooks.com. It has several first edition hardback listings. The one in best condition, $92.00. There are other first editions and covers. You can put in your own search criteria. My husband and I both collect hard to find and rare books. Another good one is bibliofind.com And sometime you can get lucky on alibris.com.
Happy Hunting!
Kit

James Herriot lived in a small town called Thirsk, in North Yorkshire, England. Where I had the privilege to live for several years. His old vets practice is now a museum and all proceedings go to the prevention of animal cruelty.

Lately I've been reading a lot of his Favorite Dog Stories. The ones about the Pekingese, Tricki Woo are my absolute favorites.....so hilarious!

I love the books and the tv series when it was on tv (I caught the repeats only being 24!)

They remind me of my grandpa who passed away a few years ago, as the reccomendation from them came from him, and as they're set in Yorkshire the things that the characters say really make me think of home.

Another book that my grandpa gave me was Fluke by James Herbert, about a man trapped in a dogs body... such a sweet story, anyone else read it?

I personally liked Trickie Woo also. Herriot makes his books come alive. http://freewebs.com/vonisskkennels/ http://photos.yahoo.com/vonissk
