It was a tv series here in the 70's and 80's too called "All creatures great and small",families accross britain would sit down and eat sunday lunch watching that (Mostly farm animals giving birth
) Great stories and I'm sure inspired many potential vets ![]() |

I read the whole series years ago. It's funny how much I learned from those books that's been relevant to dealing with the cattle here. I never thought I'd have any need to know anything about cows since I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area - about as far away from cows as you can get!

It's funny you said that QW, my father gave me a few of his books today. He said I would love them. It they are as good as everyone says, I sould have them done this weekend ( I have the whole weekend off, YAY

I've been trying to find a copy of one of his books. My father loaned me a copy of It Shouldn't Happen to a Vet, and told me to take care of it. It was a limited edition, leather hard cover. I started to read it, and just as it was getting good, the dogs got it
It's now shredded, and I can't find another one like it to replace it for Dad. He doesn't know yet. |

Try searching out book sales. My mom bought a few of his books at a church book sale, not leather though.
James Harriot was just an alias, can't remember his real name right now but I read it in a biography sort of book about him. Love the books, have read a lot of them. |
