Paris hilton on Ellen today...

Did anyone see it? Today on Ellen Paris is on and Ellen says "I hear you are an animal lover too how many dogs do you have now?" Paris responds with "umm oh my gosh, I have 17 dogs now" Ellen was like "no way" She said "yeah they just keep having babies and I feel bad giving them away" Ellen then said "you need to get your pets spayed and neutered Paris" And she says "they all are now exept for 2."

OMG, This just reinforces my long held belief that some people should Not be allowed to have pets or reproduce .....

It just goes to show you that it doesn't matter what your status is in life, common sence is not hereditary ....... and her comments might even be funny if it wasn't so sad!

She is the perfect example of why anyone who is thinking about adopting a pet (1st time owners) should have to go thru a "Becoming a Responsible Pet Owner" clinic of some kind and get a passing grade on the final exam.

Update! Animal control visited her house and left a "notice to comply" after it was aired on ellen that she had 17 dogs. They are only allowed to have 3 where she lives. I feel bad for the dogs but I also don't think it's fair for her to have 17 dogs when everyone else is only allowed to have 3...

oh my goodness, how sad is that!!!!! Its good that animal control busted her, but yes, I do feel bad for the dogs in a way, but hello.....could someone say she was almost a puppy farmer? "They keep having babies and I feel bad for them" OMG

I thought LA County just enacted the mandatory spay/neuter law? Am I mistaken? 'Cause otherwise I agree with Dogs4Life, she'll probably just get the license or permit. I thought it was really interesting that they said neither she nor the dogs appeared to be home when they went to investigate. Like where else would all those dogs be? I wondered if maybe she'd moved them to another of her houses somewhere to avoid the law.

I gotta say even though I believe Paris Hilton has no business caring for the lives of any other living thing, I do not like laws like this. We have plenty of animals. We are allowed 5 total. we have 6, 4 cats 2 dogs. I had another dog staying with us for a while. I would have loved to keep him, and if not him, I have the time, resources, knowlege, etc to care for more animals (no more cats though). I love them, I love to train them.

They don't cause any problems. My neighbors always comment how they have no idea I have dogs, except they can seem me outside with them. They don't go in their yards, they don't bark outside, they aren't digging holes all over, they aren't running loose. My dogs are NEVER outside unless I am. Why should I be limited???

I can see why they have these laws, somewhat, but come on. there's laws for public safety, health, etc concerning dogs (ie leash laws, picking up crap, at large dogs) if someone can't comply fine them. They have nusiance laws for barking, digging, running around loose, etc. If people can't obey them, punish them. There are already a thousand ways they could get these people if they wanted to, but they don't. If they spent less time trying to pass more restrictions and more time enforcing the real laws and real problems we'd be much better off.

This is still America, and people should still have choices. If Paris's dogs can have 50 puppies, and she keeps them all and all are cared for and fed and healthy, and not breaking any of the other hundred dog laws for nusiance, public safety, or health, then she should be able to, even though I still see her as one of the most brain dead people alive.

I agree to a point, GSD, except I think the numbers have something to do with the animal's quality of life, too. Paris Hilton seemed to indicate that her dogs just breed and breed, meaning she's got females being bred back-to-back, and the possibility of other problems you run into when you have a bunch of unaltered animals living together (fighting being one I can think of). Also, while Paris may be able to afford to have someone else cleaning up after and caring for her dogs so they are getting each of their needs met, can the average person really do that? And keep sanitary conditions indoors and out? Most people work, which limits how much time one has to care for all a pet's needs. I work funny hours and have my family's help, and I still feel like each of my pet's lives could be improved if I had more time (okay, and if I wasn't lazy or tired

). 4 dogs is plenty for me, and not a number I would keep permanently (2 of mine are fosters).

I guess your law doesn't stipulate how many of each pet you can have, it just gives you a total? In my county we have a limit on each type of pet we can have based on how much property you have. So 4 dogs is our property limit, and I don't even know what the limit is for cats or the horses we're zoned for.

I think the limits have to be in place for the people that would abuse the lack of limits if they weren't in place. People who can't discern their personal limits. And sure it's a bummer (especially if you know your personal limits but are following the law to a T), but at least there are enforceable limits for those people that just can't set their own. Someone has to suffer with every law, I suppose, and I'd rather it be us humans than animals.

I dislike Paris and don't think she should have dogs.I mean,in realtiy she seems to only have them as "accessories".I hate how that has become a trend...to have small dogs and carry them around like they are some sort of article.

Maybe if Paris only had the 1 or 2 dogs,it wouldn't be so bad.
