I voted no. How in the feaken world and 80% of people want to ban these dogs?!? I mean man! It isn't the dogs fault people!! Think of it this way: humans do a lot worse things and they know (normally) right from wrong. Dogs do a lot less worse things than people do and they don't know right from wrong. Now, who should be banned? The idiots that screw up these wonderful dogs!

People don't like them because of all the mis-information. We always say it's not the dogs fault...well it's not the publics fault that they have the wrong information hammered into their heads from childhood. *sigh*
Personally I think there needs to be strict laws regarding dog breeding and ownership, but that's for another thread.

it will never cease to amaze me how "the public" hates and fears pit bulls and yet has no clue what a pit bull even looks like. i take my grade a all american red nosed eleusis dog out in public and people are all over her. she wags and smiles and licks people like crazy and they love her. and then they ask me what breed of dog she is.

yeah, she's evil.

i've had people get horrified looks on their faces and back away when i say "she's a pit bull". two seconds earlier they wanted to take her home.

ignorance depresses me.

The ignorance will never stop until the focus is put on the cause of the problems. That being ignorant & irresponsible owners and byb/puppymills.
Why the byb/puppymills? Because they're breeding dogs with crap health & crap temperaments and selling to people who have no knowledge of dogs in general let alone that particular breed (or breeds if it's a mix breed). And these are the people who don't fence their yards/keep their dogs restrained within the property and don't socialize or train their dogs.
And that's when we get problems.
Of course, I'm talking about any and all breeds of dog here...not just the APBT. Which we all know is not always (particularly in Australia) the culpret in these attacks.
