The Dog Bible

Has anyone purchased or read this book? I'm thinking about going out today and getting it. It looks like a must have for any dog owner.

It says it has over 250 breed profiles, 50 careers with dogs, 600+ color photos, 1001 training and behavior tips, 50 fun activities for your dog, 100 grooming hints, 100 health remedies, 25 emergency solutions, and over 30 pages of canine resources. And it's also 752 pages long! Its supposed to be about $25 dollars or something, but it sounds like it's worth it!

Just make sure you are going to use everything in it and that it will make an excellent refrence when needed. It may be just too modge-podge. Look it over very carefully before spending that much money.

$25 is cheap. Down here it'd probably around the $50 mark. Sounds like a good book, but I agree with calgal they may have packed too much into one book to give much detail on any one thing.
Still, having said that, if I see it here (at a cheap price) I'll probably buy it. I'm a sucker for dog books...love 'em!

Cass.

I have it and would not call it is not a "must have". But, there are a lot of various topics - history, law, traveling, health, care, training. Some of the breed descriptions leave something to be desired, but it is nice for first time dog owners. A good list of resources is provided, too.
Kit
PS - not just AKC recognized breeds.

I used to have a book called "The Horseman's Bible", in fact I probably still have it around here...somewhere.

It didn't mean bible in the the "scriptural" sense. Is that what people are wondering?
