An 11-year-old boy has been charged with arson after he and two of his friends allegedly poured a flammable liquid on a dog and watched her burn.
Angel, a 2-year-old Siberian husky, was chained to her dog house in a fenced area at the home of her owners Sunday when the three boys allegedly set her on fire. "She is still alive," said Lowndes County Chief Deputy Tony Mulligan. "She may make it, but it [the injuries] are pretty bad." The 11-year-old was arrested Wednesday by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department and turned over to juvenile authorities. The two other youths have not been charged yet, but officials expect to make the arrests soon. At about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to 58 Swartz Drive, Lot 2, in regard to the incident. Lisa Brasfield, the dog's owner, told authorities her pet was chained to the dog house when the incident occurred. The boys apparently poured some liquid around the face and upper body of the dog. The fire burned out the dog's left eye, one of its ears and its upper body, Mulligan said. Angel has received treatment and is now home with her owner, authorities said. Mulligan said witnesses reported that the neighborhood boys had been seen aggravating the dog earlier. Because the state of Mississippi does not have a felony charge that fits this crime, Mulligan said the boy was charged with arson. Similar charges are expected against the other two boys, Mulligan said. |

AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD did that.. IMO, that's a kid that's going to grow up to be a murderer.
And what would you bet that the 'arson charge' is going to be nothing more than maybe a day at Juvie camp and a 'talking-to' just because he's eleven. Obviously this is a person who has no respect for life, and the poor dog... Gosh that's awful. ![]() |

Hmm, I'm more inclined to imagine an awful kid like that 20 yrs. from now spending life in prison after he killed innocent people.
Eh, that's enough of this thread for me tonight, I get so mad over things like that that I wind up crying. I usually appear to overreact to things like this, but it's the worst combination of heartbreaking and infuriating for me.. ![]() |

Hmm, maybe.
I'm kind of the same way. I love to sketch pictures I have in my mind, and as a result I think I've started imagining everything in print as a picture, and I always picture things like this. Especially at night, when it's quiet and my parents are in bed, the picture of that is always on the top of my mind. |

I might be a little young to say this and sound sane, but what is WRONG with kids these days?!?! When I was eleven, I never would have imagined doing such a thing, and I didn't hear of it nearly as much as I do now... And I'll bet anything the lawyers for that kid will defend him by saying that he's young and 'didn't know any better'.

That's the most sickening thing that I have ever heard.....that kid should be put in jail!! I don't care how old he is!! He is old enough to know what he's doing and to know that it is wrong!!! I'm disgusted at how parents raise their children to have no respect for animals....

This is just horrible.. They should change the laws in this state.. Any one doing harm to an animal needs to be treated just the same..These children need serious help.. This is just the way Jeffery Dalmer started acting out.. And look how he turned out.. |
