I FOUND BULLETS PARENTS (this stinks)

Ok..so i found out where Bullet's parents were and went for a little visit. They didnt know who i was, i went with a friend who knew them. They had 15 DOGS!!! and like 6-7 cats. Oh..thats not all...they were all chained up in this little yard. Three pit bulls, one puppy pit, one pit mix, four young (under 2) adult dachshunds, five dachshund puppies, and one BD. It was crazy..i didnt know what to say...

the worst was..they were SOOOOO proud of their dogs..couldnt stop bragging.....

all the dogs had the chains around their necks...no collars. Bullets mom had sores where the chain rubbed her raw. They were dirty...very rough fur, long untrimmed nails, unsocialized....i was sad. Can i not call animal control..or even animal cops???? its terrible.

heres bullet's mommy and daddy anf even his little brother.

Aw. That is so sad, and what were they bragging for? The fact that they chain thier animals should take away thier bragging rights, let them be chained. At least Bullet got out of there. I would definitely call someone

but who?

know what would be nice?

If there was a pill to permanently sterilize male and female dogs or cats without danger of harming the dog...I would spend ALOT of money to get a hold of a good number of pills and though this would be illegal. 15-20 someodd balls of cheese wrapping these pills would be thrown over that fence to each dog. Now they wont know why none of the dogs are not taking and getting pregnant...and alot of puppies will not be born into such conditions.

And those cheese balls will accompany me to my work as a groomer and find themselves in the kennels of dogs who are not spayed or neutered and obviously not show or working dogs. There...illegal...but it will save many shelter dogs live and prevent more.

Well, I found a site very easily. Tells you where to go or who to call to report cruelty to animals in Texas.

That's really sad Call animal control. They might just tell them to bring the dogs to the vet to be treated for the neck wounds and to give them collars...but that's better than nothing! Do they have food and water? How long are the chains? Do they ever get off for exercise? Do you know if they get regular veterinary care? They probably could get in a lot of trouble if the dogs don't get their vaccs..

Why don't you call in a complaint to the ASPCA in Texas and complain about the dogs being mistreated. At least when they go out and check the site they will tell them what to fix and how to take better care of there animals. They will give them a written warning and if they don't cooperate with the agents the next time they are out to check the property then they may take them away or at least some of them.

Well, even if they are fed well, have water, and they have shelter, having sores around their neck from a chain is probably abuse/neglect, especially coupled by the nails and coat.
Also, is there any limit on how many dogs you can own in your area? I know it depends on where you live, but this would be one good situation where people could only have two dogs.

I'm with everyone else,Stand up for what you believe and do those dogs a favor and call! It doesn't matter if they have food, shelter, ect. Using chains to tie dogs IS cruelty. Especially if there are untreated wounds. What would it hurt? Maybe if the people got a visit from animal control they could educate them, and the owners would make an effort to better care for their dogs. I believe if there is a chance to make a difference no matter how small, it shouldn't be passed up.

How sad . I'm sure the ASPCA would be very interested in them and their living conditions.

I have not heard of a pill to sterilize yet, but I know there is an injection for males (maybe females) that is pretty effective and does not require removal of the testicles. It does have to be preformed by a vet, but it is a good way of sterilizing a dog w/o it being obvious.
