Hey everyone, thanks for the compliments. They are crazy.
Sorry british for my reply at the beginning, I was onthe phone with my mom, "Happy Mother's Day" putting this thread together and trying to get ready to go out with my in-laws... I wanted to type more.. like, we implement lots of child gates, which is one of the first things the puppies must learn to respect. It's taken Spirit a long time to understand that even though she CAN go over the gate, she's not supposed to!! LOL! Also, the linoleum and wood flooring are for when they first come in from outside, that and the entire basement, until they dry and/or the dirt falls off!! LOL! Then they're allowed in the living room and bedroom. The living room, which is also our formal dining room, which is now my office is carpeted, and their favorite place to play. The chairs are older, and one is vinyl. The couch is leather and so easy to clean as well. The carpet gets shampooed about once a month. We're going through one of the worst seasons right now with all the rain, I can't wait till warmer, drier days! |

I have baby gates up for my 2 as well, it's funny how a 115lb Rottweiler will lean on it and it doesn't move, and on the rare occasion it does take a fall, he sits waiting patiently to see if he is "allowed" to come on through....hahahaha. I had to take out the coffee table in my living room as well. When they got playing, PJ would sit (cause Tysa likes to nip at his ankles), and actually sit on the end of the table. It would become an instant "teeter", and everything on it would end up on the floor. Including cups, glasses......etc...(my living room carpet is now destroyed by stains). Then there is the end tables, with the lamps on them. I sometimes end up with a lamp on the couch from the 2 monsters just running past and rubbing the table. Slowly but surely, the place is becoming more and more dog proof. Would be nice if they weren't so darn clumsy. ![]() |

Thanks BB... It's a long process it seems. We have shelves on the walls that have nice things on them, they're all about 5 feet up!! LOL! They've never been harmed, but, Jazz worries me. Yesterday they were playing in the dog room while I was in the shower, and I hear a **crash**. Well, the dog room is supposed to be the most puppy proof! I come into the room and here is Jazz on top of the tall table, probably a good 3.5 feet up (I don't know what that is in meters, I think over a meter though) pushing things off to the other four waiting below. I have no idea how she would have gotten up there. It stand by itself in the corner. But when she was a puppy she'd climb up on top of her own crate and then on top of the big crate to filch off of the top where I kept their "kennel" treats. We had to move things around so that wasn't possible anymore, and now she's throwing me this curve. This table is so tall she stands under it completely with room to spare, so I have no idea how she jumped up there... Silly girl...
Thanks Tribal... They are a load of laughs. Do you think you can teach a group of dogs to keep their paws to themselves??? LOL! I didn't think so... |

Wow...you definitely have a houseful, Julie!
They are all getting SO big and more gorgeous with every picture I see! I can't wait to see them at Waconia! It's a little easier to Corgi-proof a house (I think...LOL). I've had to clean off bottom shelves of everything, but with Phantom getting so much bigger, he and Ruby have taken out a few other shelves when they get to playing rough. Luckily, the wine rack is still in one piece (I cringe when they get to running through the dining room, and just know it's going to topple over one of these days!). I thought the end tables were safe, until I caught Ruby and Phantom walking across the couch and over the tables a few times. Ruby has found a way to get 3/4 of the way around the living room without touching the ground! LOL I think they are part cats at times! See you in Waconia after Nationals!! ![]() |

Oh man I bet that's alot of fun. Thats a good pic of the whole gang.
Now do they all get along? I always wondered how that many dogs can live in harmony. And with them being male & female. Do you have trouble when Laney is in season or are they all fixed? GSP |

Can't wait to see you Sherilyn!! That show is marked with extra stars!!! I've seen the fire behind those Corgi eyes.. I think your house is pretty puppy proofed!
GSP - They all are manageable together, with very few problems. See Laney's thread for more about that, I responded to you there as well. Alley and Laney are spayed... and I just realized, Jazz is almost 6 months and will probably come into season this fall, she'd be almost a year, and if Spirit doesn't she will in the Spring... oh gosh, I thought I had more time of peace!!! oh my.... |
