Look at her broken expression




She's very skinny (no bones protruding, but obviously underweight), but you can't really tell, I guess because of her long hair and coloring.

I'm hoping to rename her because I hate generic names that everyone names their dogs (like "Missy" LOL), so suggestions are welcome. She's actually 2 years old (I read 1.5 on her shot records--yeah, that was back when she GOT her shots ). Her birthday is March 16th.

Shes beautiful!!! Is she purebred? I dont know Chihuahuas all too well but she almost seems to have something a little sighthound-ish about her...maybe its just the way she''s posing and the angle the pictures are taken....*shrugs* How about the name ""Cora"" which would be short for ""Coraçáo"" which means ""heart"". Its pronounced ""Kore-a-sow"" *roughly, i dunno how to really describe the last part using english....LOL*

OC, the previous owner said the people she got her from (I assume the breeders because she's had her since she was a pup) said she was purebred. I don't believe she's mixed, but I agree her body looks sighthound-ish right now, I think because she's so thin. I need to take a shot from above so you guys can see, as I know the pictures don't show her lack of weight. I think she's just one of the MANY poorly bred Chihuahuas we have around here. There are always some Chis at animal control and for sale, and none of them resemble a well-bred Chi. She has very bowed legs front and back and is just all-around not very well-bred.

Thanks for the name suggestions! For some reason I want to call her Reesy or Risa. I loved DSchaferhund's new pup's name, "Brisa" so I think that contributes. Risa means "laughter"--that could be our goal, 'cause there's nothing funny about how she is now. I'll have to keep thinking about it, so feel free to offer anymore names you can think of! Normally the meaning comes first for me, but I know I couldn't name her something I didn't like just for the meaning.

What a sweet looking girl she is! How could anyone cause such awful abuse to her? It's just crazy. Here are a few suggestions for names:

Amara - "unfading"
Chieko - Japanese for "wise" and "thousand blessings child"
Ciara - Irish for "little black one"
Rina (similar to Reena, but different meaning) - Hebrew for "joy"
Monifa - African for "I am lucky".

i like the name girly....I really wanted to name Trixie that, but I know my mom wanted to name her next dog that (she wants to rescue one this spring maybe)

some other names i like:
Adalia - noble
Piper - its just a cute name
Aarya - prayer
Vivian - alive
Leila - Dark beauty
