Premier Pics (Kennelmom - Marco too!)

I got my Premier pictures uploaded and although I didnt feel I got many pictures I still got enough to be too many to share so I will just show you guys my favourites (also dogs I actually worked with hands-on)!

This is me and Dourado, a Estrela Mountain Dog. He's still a puppy but he is so stunning he got BOB (against a female puppy and a male adult) more than once! Excuse his interesting posture, the pictures were taken at the end of the last day and it had been very hot all weekend so posing for pictures wasn't exactly something he was too interested in

The other Estrela puppy is Juneau. You can see how hot it is because she dumped her water bowl to lay in the water - silly girl

And my favourite Estrela was the 5 year old male named Mogno. This guy is AWESOME!!! I dont know much about Estrelas but he gave me a great impression of them!

The two Sharplaninecs - Arx and Gaia

The famous Shar look

The dock jumping Malinois

A rare treasure that I found at the show - a Shar Pei that actually looks like what its supposed to rather than over-wrinkled and sporting cankles!!!

Harlie the Presa

Conan the Presa

Reina the Presa

I didnt get any pictures of Drago the Presa or the three Laiki >_<

And for Kennelmom.....MARCO!!!! (and his dad on the right)

There are a lot more Premier pictures at ::Mod Edit-Links to other forums go in the ROWR forum only:: if anyone is interested.

Wonderful pictures OC! Love the Estrela and the Sars...I'm super jealous of you. And I love that Shar Pei! I really like the breed but I'm a fan of the low wrinkled, horse coat, bone mouth dogs too. It's a shame more in America, the UK and Australia aren't like that.

Cass.

I agree with Cass!
Now, how do your pronounce the second breed's name? The first breed reminded me of Leonbergers and the second of Teibetan Mastiffs.
And those Presas are GORGEOUS! I love the brindle one in the third picture (Reina?).
Of course, Marco and his dad are stunning too!

Cassie, the breeder tried to convince me that the reason this dog has such nice tight skin and the other one (from the same breeder) has so much loose skin is because of coat type (smooth VS brush coat). I didnt feel like getting into an argument so I let her "educate" me and then got my pictures and left.

Ritz, hehe that is the biggest insult you can throw at an Estrela enthusiast - calling their dog a Leo or claiming they look like one. I made that mistake once when our group was hanging out in one of the hotel rooms and I asked some question pertaining to Estrelas but I was so tired I slipped and said Leo >_< I think I still have the bruise (all in good fun of course) lol

Sharplaninec is pronounced SHAR-PLU-NEE-NETZ. They are livestock guarding breed from Macedonia so it makes sense that they have some similar qualities as Tibetans (but still very very very very different) since they were used for mostly the same job and form follows function.

Reina's a good girl, very much a puppy in the head still but she is coming into her own nicely and will make a fantastic dog.

All those dogs are sooo gorgeous! What a fun weekend you must have had, I'd love to attend an official dog show once in my life. Estrela Mountain Dogs are really pretty. I don't know much about them either, but I know a little. Your friends dogs are gorgeous, I think I'd hug them to death if I was there!

MARCO! He's such a cutie. He looks like a fantastic dog with a great personality. Can't wait till KennelMom takes him home.

Ack! I've heard that too. What a load of rubbish. LOL Personal preference is the reason for the excessive skin and swollen looking meat mouth. Oh well, at least some of us know that, right?

I agree about the Sars, they do draw you in. I've loved them for a long time and wanted to meet them. Perhaps when I get over to the US I'll get a chance.

Cass.

yup, personal preference and disgustingly enough its what wins ribbons. One of my firends who was there is a vet tech and she said that Shar Peis are one of their favourite breeds to come in since they know they willbe making a lot of money off the dog's owners due to all the health issues that will arise. funny, but sad at the same time. And yes, it is good that some of us are smart enough to know and recognize what they are really supposed to look like. Basically a pit bull body with a shar pei head and minimal wrinkling.

Heh if you wanna see some good Sars forget the US, head straight to the mountains of Macedonia! Thats where these two come from. Both are imports. There are I believe 5 known owners/breeders of Sars in the US whereas in Macedonia they are all over and into Serbia. Russia also has them since the Army tried crossing them with COs to get a better military dog.
