Wow - what a great looking dog Zeus is. His coat is sooo shiny
It's good to see them all getting along together - is that the first time Zeus has met Max and Niko? |

I'm glad he came for a visit! It looks like they all had fun together, and all three are great looking dogs.

Zeus is cute! He almost looks like he has a mix of bull terrier in him (his muzzle looks rounded on top), but it might just be the angle of the pictures. I hope you get some more for us sometime!

Zeus is a gorgeous dog!
I love the bully breeds. I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you know why your cousin's boyfriend wants to breed Zeus? Do you know his reasons behind his decision? |

I have no clue as to that. He has befor years ago and the puppies (which are now older) live close by to him.
icey- his muzzle is square but his father had a small head for a pit but him mom had a big head so mabey that is the cause. The parents were both pure bred pitties. He is a good guy and helps out often with rescues and he is charging $100 for the puppies and $50 from each $100 is going to rescue. ETA:in the backyard max would wait for them to run around a few minutes than when they would calm down he would jump on them lol |

Sorry I just don't understand why he would breed from him? Why make any owners of the pups do something that he is not doing? Is he going to have the pups done before they go to a new home?
Sorry not getting at you, but I just don't get it ![]() |

Hes very cute, but its a shame hes breeding him. It doesn't sound responsible to me...theres no reasoning behind it. Is he a champion show dog, who has been health certified? Or is he just being bred "Because"? I know its not YOUR fault, but you WILL be supporting his breeding.

About a year and a half ago the subject came up and i tried numerous times to get him to get Zeus nuetered or keep him intact and not breed him. He is very passionate about the breed and dogs in general but you know how sometimes people dont see eye to eye...well that is the situation. One good thing is that 8 people in my family (all living on staten island like me and eddie) have already said they would be able to take a pup so that way they arent seperated. They will also be nuetered at the right age (around 4-6 months) and that will put a stop to any other breedings in the family. It's just i would still feel bad about somethings you know like something will eat me up inside. I just really hoped i could get through to him with this subject but i just cant unfortunatly. |

I think that lots of people on here know more about pit bulls then I do. But, from what I DO understand, they're definately not a breed that should have any chances taken with them in regards to breeding, just because of temperment and health issues.
I mean...every day we see crazy news stories about what pit bulls did this or that, and every time on these forums people say, "Well, its the fault of the back yard breeder OR its the fault of the handler for not keeping the dog contained, etc." Please don't contribute to that. BTW- you can't control what puppies are neutered or spayed. Truthfully, all you can do is HOPE that they'll be spayed or neutered, right? Again, why contribute to the problem? If you really want a pit bull puppy, why not support a reputable breeder, or do a rescue? If he asks you why you didn't take one of his puppies, just be honest and say that you don't feel you'd be doing him (or the breed in general) a favor by taking one of these puppies. Since you are so understanding of his situation, then he should be understanding of yours in turn, right? Just thought I'd also add: It's not uncommon for Pit Bulls to have litters of over 10 puppies. In fact, I'd say 10-15 seems to be the norm from what I understand. So, what happens to the other 7 puppies? *sigh* JMHO as always. |
