Some deals I got lately on doggie stuff + Aysa

I bought both of these feeders at Ross (it's mostly a clothing store, brand name cast offs) for about $15. One I bought years ago and the leopard print one I just bought a few weeks ago. They sell at Petsmart for like $26 so I love how little I spent on them! The placemats came from Petsmart. Ross has great deals on pet bowls so check it out if you have one!

Pet stairs, $10 from Walgreens. These only work if you have low furniture. My bed is the bottom of a bunk bed so it has no box spring and is close to the ground. They're perfect for us and retail at $20 at Target! So I was happy. The dogs aren't used to them yet but I'm hoping they'll start using them.

Trixie's blue bed I got for $8 at Big Lots and then saw for $16 and up at Petco. I was thrilled! It's fully washable and has held up to many washings so far. Aysa thinks it's a toy though. Ollie's bed on the left came with Trixie so it was free--even better. lol A tip about foam beds: Cover the foam part in a trashbag or similar and then put the cover over that. That way the foam doesn't just soak up pee or water. That's probably like "duh" for most people but it took me awhile to come up with it. LOL

Missie's new little heart tag, $2.95 shipped (see my post in Related Offers). The heart tag ("cat" tag) only fits two line of text so I put two phone numbers on there (knowing her name won't help much in getting her home!). I'm really happy with it. I think it is plastic covered in something shiney, but it's not like the aluminum colored tags that start wearing off immediately.

And last but not least, Aysa's belly band that Calgal made for him. Belly band aka life (carpet, furniture, etc.) saver. Calgal chose the fabrics and I was thrilled to see how they were fun but blended with his coat. His second belly band is a dark leopard print. This is his camo one:

Oh, his bed looks funny because I just washed the cover and haven't put it back on yet. That's his $25 Costco bed. Another great deal!

I think I need to start a blog on pet deals because I'm finally getting good at finding them. lol I hope you guys can use some of them!

Oh, if you've adopted a pet you can get free coupon books from Petco and Petsmart--some great deals from what I saw!

Hi Karen!
Thank you for this info.
I did not know where to find inexpensive items, so I paid quite a lot for mine, but from now on I know where to look first

Also, your dogs are sooo beautiful. I love the coat of your yorkie; it looks so shiny!

Thanks Greek and Rivsky. Calgal did do an awesome job on the belly bands! I couldn't be happier with them.

Greek, Aysa marks (pees) in the house to "mark his territory" unfortunately. The belly band is supposed to teach them not to pee in the house (because of the discomfort after the band is wet) and failing that it at least still prevents the house from being peed all over. Aysa doesn't seem to be bothered by peeing in it but at least it protects our stuff.

You should, Paws! They have tons of the ceramic bowls at my Ross that are super cute and really reasonably priced. I can get like a 2qt. ceramic bowl for $7. I need to go back and get one as I think Aysa prefers the little one's ceramic bowls to his plastic one (I think it keeps the water cooler). They have some cute beds and stuff too but the prices on those aren't always as inexpensive as I can get them elsewhere.

No, he's never tried to get the belly band off. He does rub on me like he's trying to itch that area (knocks me over. lol) and loves to be scratched under the edges of the belly band on his back. He gets all excited when I take it off to let him outside. lol But no, thank God, he does not try to get it off! I think it would take some force for him to, too, because the velcro strip is wide so it holds pretty good.

lol thank you. I've heard far and wide of these belly bands and never thought of what they were for. *doh* that should have been obvious. (I really should get a male at some point ) It does sound like a lifesaver.

I love the belly band too, it blends in with his coat so well you'd never know it was there. He's a beauty.

The bowls at my ross are very expensive!

I bought the Doggy Steps when they first came out, from Walmart for 30$, and then when I saw them at Walgreens for 10$ I was mad! lol

I love finding great deals, and finding cheap pet products is an even bigger bonus! You've definitely found a lot of great items. I hate it how big brand places jack up the prices when you know what they're selling isn't really worth that much.

Wow great deals. Thanks for sharing I love shopping for Emma. I just went out on the weekend and spent $260. on grooming stuff for Emma. I think I'm going to tell my sister-in-law she needs a belly band for her American cocker. I was at her place on the weekend and he was marking all over. So gross.

That's too bad Jamila. Have you checked online at like jefferspet.com and dog.com? They have some good prices, too, and you end up saving gas money if nothing else (I calculated it once and came out a few dollars plus gas money ahead--and gas money really counts because neither Petsmart or Petco are real close to me).
