Well Pepper was a house pet and only surrendered because the couple had a baby.As for Andy,we don't know his history, except that he was a hunting dog.He was actually found wandering and nobody ever claimed him (unfortunatly that happens all too much here, hunting dogs are "tools" here).

What cute doggies! It's nice to hear that Pepper's found a new home. Hopefully it won't be too long before Andy finds one too.

They are both gorgeous

I love beagles but don't think I'd ever actually have one for myself though so love admiring them from afar!!

Poor Pepper, given up because they had a baby...at least you found her a great home, she is precious.

Andy is quite handsome and proud. Are his front legs bowed or is it just the photo?

It's so great you foster, I really respect people who take the time to foster.

Yeah,Andy's front legs are a little bowed. His back legs are kind of crooked too, depending on how he stands.

Wow, they look severe from one of the pictures. Have you had his legs x-rayed to see how bad it is?

Our Hank has bowed legs too, that's why I noticed it in Andy's picture. Hank has severe patellar luxation in his back legs (grade 4) and moderate in his front legs. Vets tell us he will need surgery on all 4 legs to keep walking after ~8yrs old. At this time we just limit his jumping and feed him high quality food to keep his weight low and inflammation down.

How old is Andy?

Nope,he has not been x-rayed.He is going to the vet next week or so,so they may do it.

Andy is about 5-6 yrs old they estimate.Honestly I think he may be 7 yrs old myself.

Good luck at the vets, hope he gets a clean bill of health. He looks like a real sweet dog.

Yeah,he is sweet...but still has a few manners to learn.
He had worms and was on pills for that.He had a bad cough with the worms, but now that has cleared up.So hopefully they won't find anything else wrong with him.He is also getting neutered.
