Arrow Meet Piper, the newest addition to my family :D
Hello everyone -- I was thinking the other day about how long it has been since I've posted on here. My life has just gotten much more busy these days. Good news though - I got a new puppy
Her name is Piper, and she's a 3 and a half month old Jack Russell/German Shepherd mix (Odd combination, I know) She was the runt in a litter of 5 pups, and just the sweetest little thing. I was also very surprised at how quickly she learned her name (took her about a day) and a couple basic commands. Smart dog for sure. I've been researching about certain Jack Russell competitions (for example, Go to Ground, Racing, Agility) and I might start a local club to help begin a competition nearby where Jack Russell (and Jack mix) owners can keep their dogs active and have a fun place to meet other owners of the breed. Just a thought, since I'd like to train Piper for some of these events. She's so full of energy, and the Jack Russell character certainly shines through. I'd like to give her something to do with all of that spunk
Anyways, enough rambling -- Here are some pictures of the little one - hope you enjoy

First of all, welcome back!

Your new puppy is soooo cute! Congrats on getting her! Yeah, good luck trying to keep all that hyper energy under control! Boy am I glad I don't have to deal with that anymore! JRT's can be a handfull, but are always such a joy to have around. They have one of the best personalities.

Are you sure of the mix? She almost looks primarily Doxie, to me. I love how she and Lucky are similar in color, so it looks like you have a matching set of opposite sizes. lol So cute!

Boy, thats a real cute pup! Your dogs do look ALOT alike...lol. I too have a JRT mix, he's mixed with Poodle.

Yes, I'm positive of the mix - I actually got to see the father and mother of the pups. I adopted her from one of the clients that comes to the animal hospital I work at. Apparently her boyfriend's GSD got into the yard with her JRT and the next thing they knew there were 5 little puppies running around

She does look somewhat like a Doxie mix, but the mother JRT had short legs and a longer body, so I can see where that can be confusing

Both of her ears are now sticking straight up as well, so she's looking a little more like a miniature GSD -- it's quite cute
