Meet Ricky (And Hogan)

Well Ricky is my Nana's new dog. She is the one who found Gabby and gave her a home until I adopted her. Well a few weeks after we adopted Gabby little Ricky showed up. He layed across the street from her house in the ditch for 4 days. He finally wandered over when she called him and she realized he had ticks all over his body probably about 50 of them. He also had burrs and grass seeds and matts all in his hair. She took him in and he now looks good. When she described him on the phone to me he sounded like Lucy so I told her to name him Ricky lol In person though they really don't look alike she didn't even mention the fact that he had stubby legs. Oh and he has been neutered. When I went to my grandparent's house for fathers day he was hiding when I went in and when I went back outside he came on the porch and he growled at me and acted like he was going to bite but when my nana went out there he was all tail wags and he loved me. What mix would you guess he is? He had much longer hair than this when she found him but she had to cut it because of all the matts and junk stuck in it. I think he is neat because of his brindle markings. He is probably 35 pounds.

And Hogan who loves Ricky. Look at that face lol she gave him a hair cut too

He is cute!! I definitely see Border collie or Aussie in him. And I think one of his parents was either a dachshund, or dachshund mix! Maybe corgi mix!

It seems that dogs have a way of finding your Nana!

I'm really not sure what the new pup might be... maybe some Aussie?

Corgi/shepherd (aussie, german, whichever lol) mix? Definetly see some Corgi in there with the short legs, and that may be where the brindling comes in!

I was thinking Corgi, Dschshund and either BC, cattle dog or Aussie. He sure is a cute little bugger. How wonderful he was given a wonderful home.

Hmmmm, having a Corgi mix myself I see corgi as well, but the legs look a lot thicker than a corgi, so maybe bassett hound? Is he long as well? And def. some short of shepard. And I think he looks like Lucy quite a bit.

Adorable!

He looks alot like an Aussie/Corgi/something else mix that comes into the clinic that I work at. So I think I'm going to say Aussie/Corgi.

Thanks everyone! I think he is either a Corgie x aussie, Basset x aussie, or dachshund x aussie. Whatever he is he is cute and sweet!

Yup that was what I was told anyway, though of course we have no way of knowing for sure. Supposedly corgi/golden mix, but I have also heard bassett hound as well (from the vet) so who knows. But he has a corgi personality, lol, bossy and stubborn and too smart for his own good. I have also been asked if he is a Daschund mix several times, its the legnth that throws people off, his height is decieving as well, he looks like a small dog, but the big fatty weighs 54 lbs
