Simba the skateboarding dog!

I was teaching Simba to skateboard today, but I had to in the 4 million degree garage since the alleys, rodes, whatever around here are cracky.

Don't mind my high weirdie voice! Simba does better when you are really hyped. This was after maybe 15 minutes of training. Actually when I put the camera down he was doing by himself while I went to get another treat! We are just starting with two feet on the skatboard, and pushing with his back two feet.

Aww, that's cute. Looks like Simba will be skating down the street in no time.

How did you teach Simba the command? Does he love pushing things around normally?

Well, I went through a few different things. Simba actually never has pushed anything.

At first I had him stand on it, then I had him only put two feet on. Well, I would just tell him to push it, and at first he would just jump off, but it would move, so I would praise him. Then we went with that fr a while, and then I helped him by moving him along, and he got the idea right away.

At first it would be he would just move his paw so it went a centimeter, then I would say push over and over, and he would keep going, so I got my voice on, and he would get excited and want to go more.
