A Pensive Fish...
Just a quick sharing ... for those who have read about the plight of this once thrice re-homed puppy from 2 months to 6 months, and the abuse and beatings ... here she is looking at life a little pensively ...
BTW, till today she still can look absolutely 'puppyish' and sometimes pensive, even though she smiles more readily, and more often and trusts humans more these days! ![]() |

What a beautiful baby. The thought of someone beating that poor baby just makes my blood boil!

That's Starfish!
We adopted her and swhe's my younger girl. Yeah Sonja, I know what you mean...when she came to us, she still had scars on her face and believe it or not, her 'grand-daddy' told us that when the last owner got her parents to return the dog (she didn't dare do it herself), she was all skin and bones and was like 'shell-shocked'. Also, among the stuff that was returned were two cheap, pet-shop quality hard plastic muzzles!!! ![]() |

Thanks Sonja, but you flatter me.
The 'Grandparents' also felt so terrible for having trusted the last owner. They spent so much time getting her back into the land of the living that Starfish's biological mother got so jealous, she started swallowing stuff, and one day she did a couple of socks! Had to go for surgical removal. Shes fine tho. Anyway, it wasn't easy to get Starfish to trust people. Starfish soon got used to me and my wife, but she never allowed anyone else to pat her and she would freak out when anyone stretches out their hands and arms. And she was frowning and looked totally unseur all the time. After 2 years, she looks like this: That's Starfish on the left and Beano's on the right. Here's a really goofy one I did at the staircase landing. After a long walk and playing on the slides, we went back. As usual, I told the to go home and they ran up, but I didn;t follow. Soon, both of them came back and looked for me, and this was what they looked like when I popped my head round the corner and said "Daddy's here!" LOL! Fishy's on the left. Hmmm, I don;t know why but in a lot of pictures, shes naturally on the left! We are so blessed by them and to have them in our lives! |
