Wow, Oc, that is a ton of fur! Reminds me of Blackie shedding...but I only get about half that much. When I saw that picture it made me remember the days when we "had" that Alasken Malamute, Loupie. I would sit outside and brush her and we always joked that it had snowed in the middle of summer when I was done because there was fur everywhere. lol And getting the huge burs out of her coar was a pain because she didn't like me picking around in her coat and yanking, trying to get them out. She loved to be brushed though and as soon as she saw me with the brush (even if it was for our own dogs) she'd come over and sit right in front of me like, "Ok, I'm here, now brush me!" lol I miss Loupie...she was a good dog.

Well, they weren't the most responsible owners in the world, let's put it that way. She was extreamly over-weight (they fed her table scraps along with her food) so she couldn't really do the "bad" things that a Huskey or Mal would normally do. (i.e. chasing things, running away, hunting, etc.)
She basically just stayed at our house. She went over to her house to eat in the evenings, but then she'd come right back over and sleep under our gastank or on our backporch. One winter she couldn't get home because of the deep snow we had so we kept her in our garage so she'd have shelter (we couldn't let her be in the kennel with the dogs because she didn't like Rose too well) and we fed her until she could make it home.
I remember that when I'd go to pen the dogs up for the night after letting them run, I'd always have to kick the dog houses to make sure Loupie wasn't in one. lol Cause when I kicked it, she knew it was time to come out. One time I kicked it but she didn't come out, so I had the food down for the dogs and here she comes waltzing out of the dog house! I made her get out in a hurry because she was food aggresive and I didn't want her to eat Rose to get to her food.
The only thing bad about Loupie, IMO, was her dog aggresion and food aggresion. She was fine with people around her food, just not dogs. She gave my Grandma's Schnauzer a bite in the back once and I don't know how many times I had to break up fights between her and Rose. (None was serious though.)
Ok, sorry for blabbering and sabtoging(sp?!) the thread!
