Yes, the dogs enjoy it (scared or hurt dogs don't perform as well). As long as done responsibly and the dogs are in fit condition and the weight is gradually increased over a long range of time, the dog's health is not in any risk that I know of. Though starting too young can stress growing bones.

Great pics, I like the one with the little girl. ("viscious" dogs... right) Weight pulling is a good way to keep a working dog serving its purpose in a constructive manner and has brought many people away from dog fighting. It is all around a good thing if the dogs are not pushed to hard. (A lot like weight lifting)

Fantastic photos of simply stunning dogs. The power these dogs have is amazing.
I love the photo of the pittie with the little girl and the close up profile shot is great too. Is that a blue fawn? (I'm not very good with pittie colours LOL )
Thankyou for posting these pictures.

Cass.

Awsome pics! I'd love to do weight pulling someday, if I ever have the right kind of dog. I like the one with the little girl, but I also like the one that is six up from the bottom...gorgeous dog!

OK please can someone explain in layman's terms to my why pulling doesn't harm a dogs health, as I posted before I have never heard of it before, I am a great believer of what the closest relation to a dog would do in the wild, a dog isn't designed to pull! All I can see from this is pain and joint problems, please correct me if im wrong!

You have to think about it like weight lifting in people. It might not be totally natural, but that does not mean with proper precautions that it cannot be done. Keep in mind they are a working breed, bred for extreme strength and muscle. It would have some affect on joints and that, but that is why you do not hook the dog up and push it really hard the first time round.

Plus seeing how this sport has been a replacement for dog fighting, it is def. much better for the dogs health then that.
