the doggies new camping bed

I bought Bailey and Lucy a new camping bed. We go camping for 3 weeks in Montana every year. I wanted the dog bed to be off the ground so they don't get so dirty / filthy as fast. They end up rolling in the dirt and ash near the campfire and then think they are getting into MY sleeping bag...... No Way! Now that I set the new bed up and bought a new fluffy pillow I think they are going to be more comfortable than me! I wonder if they make a bed like this big enough for me to fit! LOL

Here is the new bed with out a pillow. It has a shade canopy.

Bailey and Lucy think it's a toy box!

I made a few of these beds as gifts, useing the plastic pcp 1" pipes and the corner connecters.......forget what they are called. Just cut the lightweight canvas the size I wanted, sewed the four flaps over, inserted pipes and put the pipes together. I'm not good at explaining this. Anyway they could be taken apart for storing or traveling.

That is pretty puch excatly how this bed is made but it is metal. I put it together almost like a tent and then screwed the pieces together so it is solid. I bought it on the internet at Pettails.com. I bought a smaller version that is almost the same when Bailey was a pup. It just isn't big enough for two long little weiners though. Bailey loves her small bed and I have it right next to my bed. She sleeps in it every night. Lucy is a mama's girl and chooses to sleep on me every night still. I wish she would sleep in her bed..she may be small but she somehow manages to take up the entire bed and I get the very edge to sleep on. She thinks she is a two pound pup still and tries to sleep under my chin.

There are human versions of these as well. The one I have is about a 10-12 inches off the ground and comes with a bug net canopy. They also sell pad to put on them if you are so inclined but they make it too hot for me in the summer.
