A few old pics

I was going through some of my old pictures today and thought I'd share a few of them with you. Going through them brought a few tears but alot of smiles as well.

Our Gabby waiting to go into the ring at a specialty. Rest in peace my love.

Gabby showing under Frank Sabella.

Gabby gives her daughter Chloe a firm reminder that mom doesn't appreciate being bitten in the butt. Chloe decided to find other things to amuse herself with after.

Ty at 3 weeks of age, who would have ever thought our little runt would go on to become a champion. Rest in peace handsome boy.

I agree, Gabby was a beauty! It looks like she had such a determined look about her. And Ty, what a cute baby. Thank you for sharing those pics. I really enjoyed them.

Thanks all for your compliments, you've made this old sourmug mom cry again but this time just because I'm so darned proud.

I miss my babies with all my heart and soul but know that my life is just that much greater because I was lucky enough to have them in it. I think it's true what they say......Why do humans live longer than dogs? Because it takes us much longer to learn all we need to try to be perfect but the dog, the dog was perfect all along.

Bulldogs aren't a low maintenance breed at all. They require daily cleaning of their facial and tail wrinkles, their nose rope if they have one and their back ends since their unable to reach back there themselves.

That doesn't include the other things like watching the temperature to make sure it isn't too hot for them and others. It isn't a breed that I would recommend someone getting before doing a ton of research on the breed.

Crossfire, thanks so much for sharing pictures of your beautiful babies! I grew up with EB's and get really sentimental whenever I see pictures of them, and squeal whenever I see them in person or on TV.

About not being able to reach... my mom said that that was one of the biggest benefits of owning a bully... they don't lick themselves! LOL.

Here is a picture of Linchy, our old girl. She was PTS a few years ago at the age of 13 due to health issues..

My mom showed her in Ukraine (from what I understand, she did very well in the show ring there) and bred her there once, she moved to the states with us, and had the litter here. She was bred a couple more times in the states after that. The above picture is of her first litter.

This is a picture of her from her last years.

Awww thanks so much for sharing, your mother's girl was lovely and as I'm sure you know its difficult at best it seems anymore to find breeders who can actually manage to produce bullies with that long of a life span. She was obviously well taken care of.

What darling pups too! I have to agree with your mother....the not being able to reach is not a bad thing in my opinion! lol

haha, man is that an understatement! In Ukraine there was (is?) no kibble, so my mom made her food all from scratch. She had Fish Oil (can't remember what kind exactly), Cottage Cheese, meat, and all of the good stuff to eat every day. Sadly, when we moved to the states my parents were not very well off financially and didn't really "know any better" and she ate Kibbles 'N Bits and Purina brand dog food for a good part of her life.

Man... now I'm reminiscing... She was such a riot. Stubborn as a mule, could clear a room in mere seconds (those bulldogs and their flatulence ), and could give anyone a run for their money. One day a man came over to fix our furnace. My dad either left the door open or left him a key to get in. Linchy let him in, but wouldn't let him out of the basement!! He had to crawl out of the windows to get out of our house.

We had another Bully named Cutie, but she had to be PTS at a young age because of cancer. She was probably around 3 or 4 years of age at the time? I can't remember eactly. It was horrible. It just ate away at her insides, literally. When we brought her in to the vet to put her down she squatted to either pee or poop (I was very young then, I don't remember the specifics of it) and a large amount this horrible smelling brownish liquid came out of her. I remember the stench vividly... the poor girl. She also had skin issues...

On a lighter note, did I mention Linchy's first two litters were natural births? I think she had 3 litters total.
