My Little Guy

Hey all!
It's been such a long time waiting for my little guy, as some may remember, i've been waiting since January. Anywho, he's 6 weeks old today, so we've got only 2 more weeks of waiting to do. Here are some pics of Rasilons Red Eagle aka. Rocky. We're co-owning him with our breeder. She's a great lady. We so badly wanted this little guy, and she really wanted to show him, so we agreed to co-owning. We know the advantages and disadvantages of this, and we're prepared to take this on.

As our breeder knows we only wanted a pet quality, she's agreed to show him to champion (assuming all goes well), wants to find a good match to breed him once, and then we are free to "convert him" to pet quality. We'll see what happens when we get there.

Anyways, i won't hold you up any longer with chatting, here he is. In case you're wondering, the brindle one is his sister, who I would love to have as well, but I think one puppy will keep us more than occupied for now.

He's a gorgeous little boy! Congratulations - I'd love to see more pictures of him as he develops (closet Boxer fan - shhhhh - don't tell the Shibas). It will be very exciting to see how he does in the show ring....watch out or you might get hooked on conformation yourselves!

You know, even though our breeder will be the one taking him, i'm pretty sure we'll be at every show we can get to. I'm gonna be a proud dad, no matter what the results.

And you can be sure, i'll keep everyone posted as he grows and moves into the ring.

Aw, he's adorable! His sister's quite a pumpkin herself....awww! It always amazes me how their nose pigment doesn't fully show till they get older.

Awww, what an adorable little baby! You must be soooo excited, two weeks is like forever when you are waiting for something as sweet as a new pup!

Quick question for you, I'm not trying to be rude so please don't take this the wrong way but doesn't AKC breed standard for a boxer call for an all black nose? Either way he is a heartbreaker!

Oh my goodness he is SO handsome. Correct me if I am wrong but I think his nose leather will fill in as he matures. I know that is how it works with the Ratties sometimes.
I Love going to the shows. We go as a family, my daughter is a jr handler. She and our dog are best buds so it is fun to watch.

were co-owning for the time being also. *Hopefully* well be able to let Sonja show our little man. If not, oh well. Its an odd situation to explain to people, but other then that its cool.

I believe they fill in as they get older, I know that happens with american bulldogs. I could be wrong, but I think thats how it works.

First off, thanks for all the compliments. As for the nose, I was going to ask here if it would change or not. As some have already posted, they think it will change color to all black. Either way, I checked with CKC standards (I live in Canada), and it didn't say anything about the nose color being a disqualification. It said the nose is all black, so it would probably be a fault, but i'm not entirely sure.

Secondly, 2 weeks seems like a blink of the eye compared to the 8 month wait up til now. Now it's just like, last minute preperations to get the house all puppy proofed before he comes to stay with us for good. Can't wait though, it'll be great.

As for co-owning, you're right. Most people don't understand the whole deal. It's still our dog, the breeder just reserves the rights to his "goodies", and takes him to shows. Thats the basic thoery anyways. Like any other good breeder, if for some reason we couldn't keep him, she would take him back regardless of co-owning or not.
