Sun anyone???

Today I was working on the computer, and got up to check on the crew. Since it was nap time (9am - 5pm) LOL! I checked the couch, but Topper and Laney weren't there.
Well, silly me, the sun had shifted, and they'd open the storage room door to find the sun. Picture below!!

They look like they're enjoying themselves, but I would wake to the worst neck cramp in the world!

Aw, what an adorable picture! They both look so comfy! I love how they roll up in the smallest ball and how they do that with them long legs is amazing. hehe!

One of these times I need to get down on the floor and enjoy the sun with them. During the summer I go out and lay in the sun, but then they're too warm to lay out in it with me. I can tell it's cooling down though, because when they're outside I notice they are laying in the full sun now!

Must be getting a bit "nippy" in WI. and finding all the sun they can before winter gets a grip is what it's all about for some very smart fur-guys. How adorable is that!!

It's been getting into the 40's at night. Soon there will be frost on the ground in the AM, and it's not unheard to have snow before halloween. As a kid I can remember moon boots under my halloween costume. I love Wisconsin! No, actually, I do!

and yes Kade, Topper has such a horrible life of competition. He gets ice cream on his birthday, gets the run of the house and gets to experience more things, has better behavior, has a rounded personality, gets to travel to all sorts of neat places, meet a million people and dogs, and loves it all. I definitely feel sorry for him. LOL!

LOL Your dogs are sun worshippers too, eh? And here I was thinking that it was only my little mexican who liked to fry in the sunlight.

I just love that they actually went looking for the sun, to the point of opening a door to find it.

I sometimes wonder exactly what they are aware of...

They can tell different breeds, as Topper always wants to play with the Boxers at the show, or rather, the fawns, he doesn't like the brindle, because Joe was one. Also, he doesn't like Blue Merle Aussies. A friend has a male about his age that has always vied for dominance with him where we used to work.

Last night at my Therapy Dog class, one of my students was telling me about her Am. Cocker. He was mauled by a GSD at 6 months of age. He is doing remarkably well both physically and mentally a year later. Enough so where she feels that he can do Therapy work, and I agree with her. His biggest hurdle has been accepting large dogs, and although he is doing well, GSD's understandably cause him anxiety. The owner asked me last night if I thought he could smell a GSD vs. another dog. Her reasoning is that she has 2 friends that have GSDs, and when either one comes over, he refuses to warm up to them. I wouldn't doubt if a breed has a particular smell, I wouldn't doubt it at all.

They know where things are, they figure out how to get to different rooms through different doors, they know voices, and who knows what else that I can't even sense... Canines are truly amazing!

It's funny you say that, because Chihuahua's are famous for prefering their "own kind". Although I think in their case it's just snobbery.
