The Bully Crew Getting New Rescue Friends
Looks like we'll be getting in new rescues this next week, only this time they aren't Bulldogs but Shelties and just as cute as cute can be.
To make a very long story short, their mother was adopted from a not so reputable shelter, taken to a not very reputable or reliable vet for her first checkup and given a clean bill of health. Nothing wrong with the dog other than she was too thin according to the vet, not a word from the doctor about her being PREGNANT and guess what.....she delivered five puppies much to the new owners surprise five days after her vet visit! I know, I know, I know....HOW on earth could this vet not have known?!? How could the person who adopted her not have known?!? Well, I have NO excuse for the vet as he SHOULD have known, I wonder, was this vet visit done via telephone or was he just totally oblivious to the extra heartbeats he heard when checking the dog out?!? The adopter, a wonderful woman who had always had rescued dogs, never a puppy and never a dog that wasn't fixed so she had no clue. The dog was very thin and had obviously been wondering for awhile before being picked up by the shelter. The adopter even mentioned to the vet that the dog hadn't been feeling very well and asked if her mammory glands were ok because they appeared to be swollen. STILL the vet gave her no clue. At any rate, the adopter had done very well all things considered and has raised the puppies to six weeks, she called me earlier today asking for help in either placing them or taking them in so it looks like the sheltie babies will be meeting the bully crew if I'm unable to get homes lined up for them by the time their eight weeks. ( They'll be seven weeks Monday. ) Along with my rant about the so called vet I wanted to share the baby pics with you all so without anymore ranting here are the cute lil' poopin' machines. ![]() Hi, my name is Spot! And I'm Gizmo! I'm Daisy the only girl. Hi people, I'm Chewy! My name is Bruiser and I'm the alpha. ![]() |

Thanks guys
They really are darling puppies, a real shame that whoever had their mother bred her, allowed her to wander and then never claimed her at the shelter. Thankfully their mother is being well cared for now and lucky for her she was adopted by someone who cared enough to see her puppies through this as well even if she didn't have much of a clue what she was doing. The mother's new owner is the one that should be thanked not me, shes done all the work and if it weren't for her my guess is her babies wouldn't have made it. I'm guessing our pups are going to look at them and then at me as if to say " Gosh Mom! Thanks for the new fuzzy squeaky toys!" LOL It should be interesting thats for sure! Even though the sheltie babies are a bit younger than mine I'm betting they'll give the Crossfire kids as much back as what their getting dished. ![]() |

I have to say, love the dog named Gizmo. Why, only fabulous people call their dogs Gizmo..... ha ha ha. kidding, kidding.
Cute pups! Sounds like some people were trying to save a few bucks by going to a shady vet. That's horrible. I hope you find great homes for them soon! |

Aw, they are precious! I'm glad to hear the mom is now well taken care of. Looks like you'll have your hands full for a little while. Please feel free to send me a basket or two, I'll be willing to help you out. hehe! j/k What a big difference from smooched face cuties to long nose beauties. Your bully crew won't know what hit them.
![]() Kudos to you for bringing them in! *hugs* |

And here they are, celebrating 8 weeks of age, their bath and growing like little weeds! Daisy and Bruiser I believe will be going to their new homes tomorrow if all goes well, the remaining three are still looking for new parents. All are adjusting very well and hopefully will have their new forever homes soon.
